On December 25th,2021, NASA's James Webb Space Telescope(詹姆斯·韋伯太空望遠(yuǎn)鏡，JWST ) took off on its journey to somewhere 1.5 million kilometers from Earth.There JWST will help us discover new information about planets far away, as well as what happened at the very beginning of time.

　　The JWST has been built for about 30 years and cost 10 billion dollars. It will take the place of the Hubble Space Telescope.which has been our eye watching outer space since 1990. The heart of JwST is a golden reflector(反品)that will catch signals from stars and planets and send them back to Earth. JWST's reflecting mirror is 6.5 meters across, almost three times wider than the one on the Hubble. This is what makes the JWST so powerful.

　　The better mirror as well as some instruments on JWST will help astronauts look deeper into space—and thus further back in time—than ever before.

　　JWST will be able to catch light from the very first stars that lit up the darkness of space when the universe began growing.Reactions(化學(xué)反應(yīng)）in these objects caused creation of atoms of carbon,nitrogen(氫) and oxygen, which are the things needed for the living to develop. _★_,we might be able to better understand how the universe came to be the way it is.
